The Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation (CSEDC) is a nonprofit organization that develops and implements the economic development program of SSMMA and its investors.

 

The mission of the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation is to identify, organize and mobilize public and private resources that will result in the creation and expansion of manufacturing and logistics companies along with new retail and commercial growth, providing economic growth and sustainable careers in the Southland.

The Southland Development Authority is a nonprofit business organization designed to grow the economy of the South Suburbs.


Launched under SSMMA in 2019 by business, civic and political leaders across the Southland, SDA brings the resources and capacity necessary to achieve transformative and inclusive economic growth for our region.

The first of its kind in Illinois, the Authority is a professional development business organization working with investors, developers and other stakeholders. It provides speed and transparency in the marketplace, while acting as a cross-sector vehicle for business, civic and public entities to drive strategic economic development across more than forty municipalities.

The South Suburban Economic Growth Initiative (SSEGI) is a wide-reaching and ambitious convening of leading partners and resources whose goal is to achieve transformative economic development — from advanced manufacturing to entrepreneurship, workforce development, housing finance, and more. The Initiative operates by giving partners the infrastructure and resources to lead overall management, strategy development, program design, and implementation.

The Illinois SBDC at SSEGI serving the Southland is a collaborative partnership between SSMMA and the South Suburban Economic Growth Initiative (SSEGI).

We service all of the Southland’s entrepreneurial and small business ecosystem, through a hub-and-spoke system of spaces and partner outreach that engages entrepreneurs and businesses throughout the Southland. Centered in a transit-oriented commercial and community space for entrepreneurs in East Hazel Crest. 

ENTERPRISE ZONES

The Illinois Enterprise Zone Program is designed to stimulate economic growth and neighborhood revitalization in economically depressed areas of the state. This is accomplished through state and local tax incentives, regulatory relief, and improved governmental services.
