Federal grants to study, clean potential contamination at sites in Ford Heights, Chicago Heights and Sauk Village

Cook County is in line for more than $1.3 million in federal grant money that will be used to evaluate and clean up brownfield sites in Ford Heights, Chicago Heights and Sauk Village.

The county’s department of Environment and Sustainability will use the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grants to assess possible contamination on vacant or underused properties, as well as pay for remediation of properties in those three south suburbs and west suburban communities…Please click here to read Mike Nolan’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
