Federal Fiscal Year 2013 STP

The SSMMA Transportation Committee met in October to approve the FFY 2013-2017 Surface Transportation Program. For 2013, the committee approved the following: 23 projects in 13 communities. As programmed, these projects add up to a total cost of $11.5 million, $7 million of which is federal funding.

On November 13, the CMAP Council of Mayors approved the FFY 2013 federal funding mark for the South Council in the amount of $4,466,754, approximately $3.5 million less than the amount needed to fund our 2013 program. The SSMMA Technical Advisory Group will meet on December 14 to discuss a strategy for making up this shortfall. Additionally, the Federal Highway Administration and IDOT will be in attendance at the TAG meeting to discuss Federal Aid Route Designation.
