Apartments, retail considered for former Lincoln Mall site

Nearly four years after Lincoln Mall closed, Matteson officials are looking at another plan for redeveloping the property that includes hundreds of housing units, a possible space for live theater and retail tenants.

A master development plan for the 60-acre site, southeast of U.S. 30 and Cicero Avenue, could be voted on by the Village Board later this month.

The redevelopment concept, called Market Square Crossing, would feature recreation facilities, pedestrian paths and a mix of residential and commercial uses built around a central open area that would be used for community functions, according to the village…Please click here for Mike Nolan’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
