Future Leaders in Planning (FLIP) is CMAP’s leadership development program for high school students in Northeastern Illinois. FLIP is a free program where teens learn about the issues that shape our region and how they can make an impact. Now in its eleventh year, FLIP recently held its first one-day boot camp in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs. Twenty-four high school students from around the region learned about planning for transportation equity, accessibility, and walkability. The next boot camp is planned for the fall.

CMAP is currently accepting applications for the summer 2019 FLIP program, which runs from Monday, July 15, to Saturday, July 20. This year’s full FLIP program will focus on ON TO 2050’s mobility goals and recommendations.
