CMAP awards 5 of 14 LTA Projects to south suburban communities


The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s Coordinating Committee approved 14 Local Technical Assistance (LTA) projects, 5 of which are in the south suburban communities of Country Club Hills, Dolton, Flossmoor, Midlothian and Phoenix (see below).

In conjunction with the RTA’s Community Planning program, CMAP held a call for new LTA program project applications in fall 2019. Applications were due on October 18, 2019, and CMAP and the RTA received a combined 82 applications from 71 different applicants. Read more.

  1. CMAP will provide technical assistance to the City of County Club Hills to update their comprehensive land use plan to incorporate the regional ON TO 2050 principles of resiliency, inclusive growth and prioritized investment.

  2. CMAP will provide technical assistance to the Village of Dolton to update their comprehensive land use plan to incorporate the regional ON TO 2050 principles of resiliency, inclusive growth and prioritized investment.

  3. CMAP will provide technical assistance to the Village of Flossmoor to develop a Local Road Safety Plan for the community which incorporates the regional ON TO 2050 principles of resiliency, inclusive growth and prioritized investment.

  4. CMAP will provide technical assistance to the Village of Midlothian to conduct a feasibility study for a Stormwater Management Fee which aligns with the implementation of the regional ON TO 2050 principles of resiliency, inclusive growth and prioritized investment. This project will also help to implement previous planning work completed along 147th Street to assess roadway flooding and identify potential green infrastructure improvements at key locations.

  5. CMAP will provide technical assistance to the Village of Phoenix to develop a Planning Priorities Report which incorporates the regional ON TO 2050 principles of resiliency, inclusive growth and prioritized investment.
