Illinois officials are accepting applications from local governments to buy park land, construct parks or rehabilitate existing ones.
The Department of Natural Resources has $25 million in grant money available for the Park and Recreational Facility Construction Grant Program.
Applications will be accepted until March 10.
The program provides grants to local governments for acquisition, development, construction, rehabilitation or other capital improvements to park and recreation facilities in Illinois.
The program reimburses grant recipients up to 75 percent of approved project costs.
