This new academic year at Governors State University isn’t quite like those of years past.
This is the year GSU converts from an upper-division college to a four-year university, which means it welcomed its first freshman class.
University officials on Friday held a variety of ceremonies to celebrate the roughly 240 freshman students in this year’s student body.
