The District’s Internship Program offers both paid and unpaid internship positions. While the main focus is on wastewater management, there are opportunities to gain knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of functions in each department including:
Engineering Information Technology General Administration
Monitoring and Research Human Resources Treasurer’s Office
Law Finance Public Affairs Office Maintenance and Operations
Procurement and Materials Management
Paid Interns
Paid interns are limited to 119 working days per calendar year and receive $13.00 per hour. Paid interns who work more than 40 hours per week receive overtime of 1.5 times the hourly rate. They do not receive benefits or paid days off.
Unpaid Interns
Unpaid interns do not have time restrictions, which provide opportunities to gain additional experience or time to work on a long-range project.
Note: Both paid and unpaid internships may fulfill the requirements for academic credit.
