The Oak Forest City Council approved plans for a new Starbucks’ café near the Metra train station — regarded as an entryway to the south suburb’s Cicero Avenue business district.

In other business, the City Council approve plans to a purchase 50 gas masks for the Police Department. Police Chief Gregory Anderson said the department’s current masks are more than a decade old and have reached the point where they are no longer assured of providing protection to police officers.
