It seemed fitting for the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation to honor Charlie Gallagher, president of Thornton-based Gallagher Asphalt, with its 2018 Big Shoes Award. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle presented Gallagher with the award on June 28 during a reception at Calumet Country Club in Homewood.
“The south suburbs are rich with assets,” Preckwinkle said. A skilled workforce, strategic location and solid infrastructure help attract business investment, she said. Please click here to read Ted Slowik’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown.
